Following the recent competitions with the 1st tee start only the Greens Committee and Board members have taken note of the comments received from members, especially over the Easter period.

With this, the starting procedure for the Collier Cup this coming Sunday, 23rd April will be from two tees, 1st & 12th. From 7.30am the 1st tee will be for competitors with general play being from the 12th tee; general play may commence from the 1st tee prior to the competition. The Course Marshall will be on the 1st tee from 9am to monitor the alternation of play with players starting from the 12th tee.

A reminder that on men's competition days the 3 ball format of the day applies from when the course opens with fourballs permitted to play after 11am from the 1st tee.

News from around the course12th April 2017

Recently cleared areas on the 7th and 14th are really coming along with the Bluebell's in full flower. I will expect these areas to increase their population of Bluebells in time providing we clear the ground floor off any new growth from weeds etc, this will be  incorporated into our winter plan. There has been some Oaks that have been felled due to them being either dead, dying and creating space for mature trees to grow into. This is all part of managing a woodland area of Bluebells and mature Oaks.

We will be removing the Leylandii on the 14th and replacing them with Pine trees this week as part of our plan to remove Leylandii from the course. These trees cause stress to our grass area by their shading and increase disease to the greens nearby. We have chosen Pine trees as they will cope with the free drying soil around the 14th green.

The new project on the 1st Tee is well under way and the area has been sprayed this week for weeds and the new posts have been painted, work will commence next week with the install of the new path to the tee.
